The German producer price indices for pine mostly continued to rise in February 2022. On average, log wood increased by 0.5% compared to January to a level of 85.7 points. B quality gained 0.4% to 98.6 points. 3/4 m lengths increased by 1.3% to 99.8 points.
C-Qualities recorded another reversal and thus a minus of 4.3% to 76.5 points. 3 m lengths contributed to this with a decrease of 5.8% to 89.1 points.
Pine pulpwood recorded an increase of 3.8% to 87.5 points in February. Douglas fir pulpwood increased by 4.7% to 62 points. Spruce pulpwood rose by 4.7% to a value of 84.9 points. The softwood pulpwood index increased by 4.2% to 84.2 points.
Year-on-year, the pine index rose 20.2%. B ranges increased by 16% – in a length of 3 to 4 m by 10.2%. C grades gained 22.6% compared to February 2021. 3m lengths increased by 26.7%. Pine pulpwood exceeded the index level of the same month last year by 29.4%
