The German producer price indices for beech logs developed heterogeneously in April 2022. On average, they increased by 0.4% to 106.1 points. B grade fell 0.9% from March to a level of 112 points. The index for 3 m lengths fell by 0.4% to 107.2 points, while that for 5 m lengths fell by 1.5% to 112.2 points.
C ranges rose 2.2% in April to a level of 102.7 points. 3 m lengths increased by 1.6% to 101.6 points, 5 m lengths increased by 3% to 96.6 points. B/C ranges recorded a minus of 1.4% to 108.2 points.
Year-on-year, the beech log index was up 3% on the same month. B grade gained 8.1% from April 2021 with 5.3% at 3m lengths and 8.4% at 5m lengths. C ranges increased by 2.7%. 3m lengths gained 5%, 5m lengths decreased 3.2%. B/C ranges increased by 0.7%. Industrial quality recorded an increase of 11%.
